Travel full time- Day1: 12/12/23- Our Full Time Travel Start Date!!
Moved out of our DE home today and it was a long day. We’ve been preparing for this for a couple months and now it the point where all the odds and ends are left.
Between the movers coming and people coming to pick up last pieces of furniture we weren’t storing it’s been a busy day. We’ve gotten rid of the majority of our furniture and have a small storage unit with sentimentals and some things I just can’t get rid of..yet. I’m thinking in a year or 2 we’ll do a clean out and get rid of even more..I’ve already forgotten what’s in there.
That’s been the once piece of consistent advice we’ve been getting from other travelers..that you really don’t need as much as you think and anything you put into storage you’re most likely will get rid of it anyway so don’t even bother storing to begin with unless you’re absolutely certain.
We checked in late tonight after attending a holiday party and our travel full time adventures have already showed us what’s in store and to be flexible.
We’re staying at a local hotel the next 2 nights to finish up things at the house. After getting our keys to our room and going to it, we discovered an unmade bed and bathroom. Thankfully we didn’t walk in on anyone!
The staff was great and got us a new room right away with no problems, and just goes to show us that we’re going to run into snags and to roll with it.
I’m exhausted and it’s hard to believe this is day 1 of our new adventures. Ready for it!
First draft of packing done!
Yesterday was another packing day..there were tons of odds and ends that I ended up putting into bags to sort through.
I got quite a few bags that need to be thinned out even more. Got rid of so much stuff and there’s more that needs to be dealt with. Getting there!
What will be next is figuring out our system for packing our car for our longer trips. Today is a bit of a mess, so will be working that out over the next couple of weeks before we move out of our local area.
For now we’re on the road again!
Today’s office for one on one calls with our members this morning & writing webinar script copy for our clients.
It was a busy week of moving and time to shift gears to write today. Lots and lots of writing!!!
I found my spot to hideout today.
Loving the Christmas vibe and view of the bay!
We stayed at the Aloft in Ocean City, MD..highly recommend for a nice hotel with a cool vibe. The staff was incredible and they also did a great job with decorating the hotel for the holidays, which made it a very festive scene!
Fun night at the Winterfest of Lights! We learned this is a long standing tradition in Ocean City.
Bentley loved looking at the lights too on the tram ride around the park and we enjoyed the hot chocolate!
Make the Winterfest of Lights in Ocean City, MD one of your holiday stops! It’s such a fun night and a long running tradition for the community!
We took a walk on the boardwalk tonight before sunset. Beautiful chilly night at the beach!
Ocean City, MD Boardwalk is fun, even during the off season. Alot of the stores are closed but you can get a great view of the ocean and during off season you’re able to walk dogs on the boardwalk, which was fun for Bentley!
